In Vallejo, historic St. Peter's Chapel hosts Voices of Peace on Earth, a candlelit evening concert. The setting does a lot of the work: candlelight inside, and the glow of the chapel's original Tiffany stained glass windows all around.
The VOENA choir, dressed in Victorian attire, sings holiday harmonies celebrating global peace and unity. VOENA represents more than 35 cultures, with a stated mission to unite the world with children's voices. Acclaimed Taiko artist David Gonzalez adds percussion, and the evening mixes song and storytelling. Candles and Taiko drums aren't the usual pairing, which is part of the appeal.
Seating comes in two tiers: $50 reserved seats, guaranteed in the first three rows, or $40 general admission. If you want a close look at the choir and the drums, the reserved rows are the way to go.
