San Francisco Christmas Guide › San Francisco Christmas Shows 2026
When Dec 4 – Dec 5, 2026
Where Davies Symphony Hall, 201 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94102
Handel's Messiah gets the full treatment at Davies Symphony Hall, with Ruben Valenzuela conducting the San Francisco Symphony and the SF Symphony Chorus. The oratorio moves through arias, recitatives, and choruses reflecting on Christ's birth, life, and resurrection.
Four featured soloists carry the arias: soprano Lauren Snouffer, countertenor Reginald Mobley, tenor Zachary Wilder, and bass-baritone Enrico Lagasca. Grand and reflective is the mood, which makes it a natural pick for classical and choral music fans looking for something beyond sleigh bells.
Come an hour early if you can. Benjamin Pesetsky presents an Inside Music Talk on stage one hour before each concert, and it's free to all concert ticket holders. Patrons with disabilities can call the box office for help purchasing tickets.
