The Center for Community Arts hosts its Handcrafted Holiday Sale at the Shadelands Art Center in Walnut Creek, with work from more than 60 student and teaching artists. Look for handcrafted ceramics, original paintings, fine art prints, jewelry, fiber arts, and glass and wood creations.
The Kids Shopping Area lets children pick out handmade gifts for the adults in their lives, with or without a parent tagging along. Surprises are encouraged. It's open both days but closes an hour before the main sale ends, so send the kiddos in early.
Part of the proceeds benefits the Center for Community Arts, the Clay Arts Guild, and the Community Arts Foundation, and all proceeds from the Kids Shopping Area go to ceramic scholarships. Free parking is in the main lot on the north side of the building.
